New York City was supposed to be our last stop during our Wedding Anniversary Road Trip last July 2021 but we were not able to go because my husband had to report back to work due to an important matter he needed to attend to at the job site. Yesterday, we finally went and we had a list of places to check but something happened that we decided to cut our stay short. I will be discussing the reason in my coming blog about our NYC visit.
We often see over and over some iconic foods where New York City was featured either in movies or TV shows so I thought of blogging about it and give my take on it. We were only able to try a few because it’s so hard to dine in different places when you have your fur baby with you who thinks he’s a detective checking and smelling everything plus the fact that pets are not always allowed in restaurants.
Please know that this is my own opinion about these iconic foods and I do not mean to disrespect anyone’s taste buds.
Here we go:

It was good but we were not that impressed, we’ve had fried chicken that tasted better in the past. Maybe because it’s not their specialty. Our Coco ate some of it though. I have to say they’re generous with the ketchup that came with our order. I guess that’s a good thing because in some places, you have to beg them for condiments like Ketchup, salt and pepper, etc.

I’m not a pretzel fan but since I have seen this food in so many movies/tv shows set in NYC so I said I have to give it another try. Maybe it will taste different here but my opinion of this particular pastry remains the same considering I love pastries and breads. It looks delicious though 😄.

I’ve had large pizzas before but I have not seen a pizza this big! Am I glad we ordered medium and not large because I could hardly finish a slice😁. It’s New York City pizza so you can fold it however big it is and it’s full of toppings like artichoke, anchovies, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, bell pepper, other meat and a lot of cheese. It was good but it could have been better, to me, if it was baked a little bit longer.

Now this one may look unappealing and unpalatable but I have to tell you that this is my favorite of all. I am actually pleasantly surprised because I do not like hotdog sandwiches. It is mildly spicy, a little sour, sweet and salty. I love this one 😋👌🏼!!!
There you have it and again, this is the opinion of my taste bud and it may differ from yours. Let me hear what’s your favorite NYC Iconic food.
