According to the story, when David and Goliath faced each other in the battle, David walked up to Goliath with only a slingshot in his hand. Goliath laughed and said “You think you can beat me?” David replied, “I have God on my side.”
You must be wondering why I am blogging about David and Goliath. I promise you that it has nothing to do with religion and the Bible. It has to do with a young woman and her team and their recent battle to conquer the big and almighty. Her name is Fenella Loujae. She’s a very talented young lady who can paint, illustrate, write, play musical instrument, sing and most of all, dance like a pro. She’s been sharing her God given talents to the public not mainly to earn money and be famous, but to make her family and loved ones proud. She’s a loyal and supportive friend and I believe this was the reason why her friends, whom mostly she has not met in person, persuaded her to join a streaming campaign on KUMU, a Filipino video sharing and e-commerce social networking service owned and developed by Kumumedia Technologies, Inc. It took her friends a while to persuade her to join for the very reason that she may have the talent and skills but she is very new in the streaming world with only a couple of hundreds of followers and in order to win in such campaign, you must have enormous number of followers. I am not sure how her friends, who became her teammates in the campaign, were able to convince her but she finally agreed. The campaign ran for a week (September 17-25, 2021) and during this period of time, they had to do live streaming in order to earn coins and be given virtual gifts by supporters and followers. And this was when it became difficult for her and her entire team because the other contenders have hundreds, thousands and hundreds of thousands of followers and supporters who can make the win (for them) a lot easier. But just like David, Fenella Loujae was destined to win in spite of the hard battle she and her team had to face. They worked hard, day and night, to earn coins. There was even a point when one of the big contenders spoke ill of her because her numbers started to get very noticeable. It was like a climb from being a newbie to being a top contender. In the end, her and her team’s great courage and hard work paid off and it led them to victory.

She did not compensate any of these guests, they performed for free to support her. By the way, she used an old laptop during the entire campaign.

I decided to write and blog about this because there are so many out there with God given talents yet they remain unknown because of how the system works. That is, the insignificant remain as such while the big names keep their status and with very minimal possiblity for the insignificant to be given a chance unless something that is destined happens.
Please know that I have nothing against people who are rich or famous. My only hope is that we as a society also support and give the insignificant and without connection a chance.
To Fenella Loujae and her team, I salute you for your hard work and tenacity to conquer and be victorious despite off and may this be your motivation and inspiration in the future.
Thank you again folks for letting me share this story. It’s very personal to me and I appreciate you for reading it.
