Covered Bridges

Covered Bridges

One of, should I say, my obsessions are covered bridges. There is something about them that fascinates me and I cannot explain what and why. The first covered bridge that I visited in the country was one in Lowell, Oregon. Unfortunately I cannot find a picture that I took, if there’s any.

I’m not an expert of covered bridges, just fascinated with them but per my readings, they’re covered in order to protect the materials since they’re made of wood mainly. Some covered bridges can be found in Europe, North America, Canada and of course USA. I’m not sure if there are existing covered bridges in other continents, if you know of any, please share with us.

Anyway, when my husband and I moved in the Northeastern part of the country, all I do is check for covered bridges that we can visit. We visited three (3) so far and I have a list of more to visit whenever our busy schedule allows us.

Here are the covered bridges that we’ve visited, so far.

Here’s a drone shot of Witherspoon Covered Bridge.

That is all I can share for now but I will update you whenever we are able to visit the other covered bridges.

Thank you again for letting me share with you, don’t forget to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Till next blog!

Hello Ms. Blogger! I have not seen any covered bridge here in the Philippines but upon seeing the pictures I got interested. Hope that someday I can see one too. Thanks and have a great day! God be with you always.

Nice photos of covered bridges you got there. Whenever I see one, I’m reminded of the film What Lies Beneath. If my memory serves me right, a heart pounding scene by Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfieffer was shot in a red covered bridge much like your third photo. Very fascinating!
