Our Shih Tzu is Vegetarian

Do you feed your fur baby vegetables? I think I should have asked if your fur baby/babies have favorite vegetables or do they eat vegetables at all.

Shih Tzus are know for being so picky with their food and our Coco is no exception. But he surprises us that he loves to eat vegetables and he even has his favorites and when I said favorites, he will eat them any time you feed him despite his being so picky.

Top of the list is **green beans**. I am not sure what’s it is about this vegetable that he will eat it any time, whether you will feed it to him with meat or solo. This was the only food he ate when he had his recent procedures done. This photo actually was taken within the first 24 hours after his procedures that was why he was wearing a cone. Still he ate his favorite green beans.

His other favorite next to green beans is **spinach**. Here I prepared it with beef (first photo) and with chicken and carrots (second).

He also loves squash. He eats it the way he eats sweet potato or yam.

He loves broccoli as well. He will eat it however I will prepare it for him.

Now celery and carrots are not his favorites but I trained him to eat both especially in the morning since he was 10 weeks old. Besides the vitamins and minerals he will get, both will help him freshen his breath, particularly celery. If I may add, these are the only vegetables that I allow Coco to eat raw.
